I really enjoyed the talk and I thought the speakers brought up important points. There is definitely a missing of "values" in teaching science and it can be taught in a very bland way, as Zach pointed out. What caught my attention was Ben's quote about how "knowledge is power" and how "with great power comes great responsibility". Empowering teachers with the knowledge to help indigenous students could be a way to solve the problem we discussed at the beginning of the class.
